The Conference Building at the JRC-Geel site was built almost 50 years ago and it has currently reached the end of its service life. A deep renovation strategy that complies with current regulations has been implemented to enhance energy efficiency and modernise its facilities. Additionally, an extension part has been proposed where a range of staff and social activities can be accommodated, transforming the whole building into multifunctional spaces for conferences, training sessions, events, collaboration, and social gatherings. It is a pilot New European Bauhaus project.
