The Joint Research Centre in Geel is a Directorate General of the European Commission. In addition it is a class 1 nuclear site. For these reasons it is of high importance that internal documents are kept secret. At the moment they are no longer needed in paper form they have to be destructed to guarantee the secrecy. Shredding off-site is allowed. The contractor shall place appropriate locked recipients (with or without bags) in order to enable easy, secure and rapid removal of the contents of the recipients in due time. A security clearance is required for all actors involved in the service.
