Women in Digital (WiD) Platform – EU Coordination

Official description

The EU faces severe challenges in attracting girls and women into the information and communications technology (ICT) sector. Less than one in five ICT specialists employed in the Union are female. This initiative addresses the Digital Decade target of improving gender balance while reaching 20 million ICT specialists by 2030, by supporting activities that actively tackle the under-representation of girls and women in the ICT sector in the EU. This action will build on and further develop the work initiated by the WIDCON project (101195389), funded under the DIGITAL work programme 2023-2024. It will support community building and cross-fertilisation across the EU, by creating an online EU platform (as a sub-domain of the Digital Skills and Jobs Platform) for Women in Digital resources that will scale up the exchange of good practices, data gathering, policy mapping, and outreach and awareness raising activities across the MS. Moreover, it will coordinate and expand the network and community of experts set up by the WIDCON project and create and coordinate a network of relevant contacts in each Member State, to expand and strengthen the EU Women in Digital network.
